Below is the text from our standard agreement. It sounds formal but it is common sense really - it just lets you know what you can and can't do with the songs.

Music Agreement

This is an agreement between Richard Wheatley / Paul Crossley (hereafter referred to as Paintbox Music) and the Licensee.

Paintbox Music will supply songs to the Licensee for use in career development. In exchange, the Licensee agrees to credit Paintbox Music for all songs used. 

  • Paintbox Music grants the Licensee non-exclusive rights to use songs whose copyright are owned by Paintbox Music and their associates.
  • Music provided to the Licensee by Paintbox Music can be used for performances and recordings with the objective of signing a record label contract for the Licensee.
  • The sale of any recordings is forbidden.
  • Paintbox Music reserves the right to cancel this agreement at any time.
  • This agreement will be effective for a period of one year after the original signing date. After this time, the agreement can be renewed, revised, or ended.
  • In the event that the Licensee signs a record label contract, a new agreement must be made if the Licensee is to use Paintbox Music’s songs for recordings and performances.
  • In the event that Paintbox Music sign a publishing contract, a new agreement must be made if the Licensee is to use Paintbox Music’s songs for recordings and performances.
